Hello everyone! Look what I got in the mail today! In the wake of Spider-Man: No Way Home, SHFiguarts released a trio of standalone action figures based on each of the Spider-Men that appeared in the film... a whole two years after its theatrical release. But the wait was worth it! This figure is incredible, super poseable, and comes complete with a ton of accessories such as the web seen here. And best of all is the very personal story that comes with it.
You see, way back in ye olde 2002 - has it really been twenty years? Holy fuck - ahem. Way back in 2002 I was lucky enough to get an action figure based on the original Sam Raimi movie, complete with a gargoyle prop to pose him on. I brought the little guy with me everywhere I went, and absolutely adored him. Then several years later, I had quite possibly the world's stupidest thought: that I was a grown-up, and didn't need the figure anymore, so I agreed to give it away. Huge mistake.
Now here I am, almost thirty years old now, sorely missing my old friend and wishing I hadn't given him away - only for my childhood hero to return in SM: NWH, which inevitably meant a line of action figures to go along with it. And sure enough, after what must have been a ton of lengthy corporate talks between Marvel and Sony, these figures were finally released! So with enough money in my savings to cover the cost, I decided it was time to get my hands on the latest and greatest figure based on my favorite rendition of the character.
This thing is a dead ringer for the action figure I had as a child, with additional joints as well as alternate hands, heads, and web lines. Maybe I'll never see my old action figure again, but now I don't need to. An even better one found its way to me. Do you guys have any relics of your childhoods? Let me know in the comments!
