Greetings and salutations! For my first post on this blog, allow me to introduce myself and what my page is all about. My name is Robin Blake, and I am a 29 year old transgender woman living in the rural southern state of Georgia. I'm a Wiccan, and I have been practicing my craft off and on for nearly three full years. I'm considered to be autistic, though due to a tumultuous upbringing, my actual diagnosis is currently pending. I'm a devout socialist, and a firm believer in civil rights for all human beings, regardless of wealth or class. I'm also a massive nerd who grew up idolizing Spider-Man; very little has changed in almost three decades.
I've also endured two toxic relationships, one of which resulted in steep financial losses while the other left deep emotional and psychological scars. I was born and raised into an evangelical purity/YEC cult that took over twenty years of my life to break out of. I was heavily sheltered away from the world during my most formative years, homeschooled by my parents and force-fed every conservative value and half-baked talking point in the book. For a significant portion of my life, I was the most spiteful, hate-filled homophobe the world had ever seen, even erring on the edge of falling clean into the alt-right pipeline before coming to my senses and seeing it for the evil that it truly is.
I have led a very strange and complicated life up to this point, and I predict that it's only going to get more and more interesting from here. So I've started a blog! Here I'm going to be posting about everything from my personal experiences as a trans woman, to travel stories about the places I've been, short stories, poetry, religious and political musings, even shower thoughts about whatever's crossing my mind on any given day.
